  • Motion to open
    • Motion: Erica Logan
    • 2nd Marisa Oviatt
  • Teacher of the Year Selection Process Has Changed
    • Community Council is no longer involved in the process.
    • 2 nomination forms, one for parents and students, and one for colleagues.
    • All nominations go to principals, and the principal will fill out a rubric for each teacher with a nomination, then a district committee will pick teacher of the year at each school.
    • Window for nominations closes Friday, January 26th.
  • Gallup Poll
    • Coalition Team picked question #4 to work on as a staff, it states, I have received praise within the last 7 days.
    • Coalition team decided to increase the number of shout outs our staff is receiving and giving.
    • Frank asked for feedback about the poll and Marisa suggested clarification of some of the questions.
  • Yearbook
    • The yearbook is an area the school goes in the red
      • Idea:send out an interest form before ordering then order maybe 20 more.
      • Allison said we need to warn parents that we won’t have extra.
      • Isabelle asked could we pre order yearbooks and then give that number to the printer to get a price.
      • Isabelle explained that with registration at the Middle School you can order your yearbook at the beginning of the year, if you order now it is this price.
      • This year the conversation continues that there will be a limited number of yearbooks, order yours now.
      • Can we have a booth or QR code at parent teacher conferences where people could buy their yearbook then?
      • District Foundation?
      • How can we allow people to pay for a yearbook online?
      • Marisa will look into how to pay for things online.
  • Digital Citizenship
    • Marisa has a handout from the district about digital citizenship. Isabelle loved that the email had all the links already.
    • “This is what we want for our students and kids.” Isabelle Obray.
    • AI information came from the district via email, it was good and just this is how we will.
    • AI can be a great tool to help teach.-Isabelle Figure out how to use AI-Marisa.
    • Talk to students about the pros and cons of AI, how are we responsible consumers.
  • Trustland Money
    • Next years trustland money will be discussed at the February Community Council Meeting. Usually due around April.
    • The last 4 to 5 years we have had the same goals for our SIP so we might need to adjust our goals for next year.
    • Get ideas from the Coalition Team and then bring the ideas to the Community Council.
  • PTA Questions
    • When is the next meeting?
    • Fun Run will still happen Tom will be in charge of it.
    • Chick-fil-A spirit fundraiser on February 8th, Papa Murphys got pushed back to March.
    • PTA President is working on getting a fundraiser with Dirty Dough as well.
    • We really appreciate our president. She is fantastic, a go-getter and a rule follower, and very efficient, very impressed with her.
